My new mill won't start

A static converter is not true 3 phase.

you have a magnetic starter.

The magnetic starter needs real and actual power to work and it may be connected to the fake leg.

The camshaft looking things may be reversing switch and not run enable.

You can rotate the wires and retry.

Power shut off first

Move all wires ONE SPACE RIGHT and the right end wire comes around to Left.

Try again.

Provide better photos of the connections.

It looks like there are extra wires on the outside terminals and a transformer below.

Transformer may be for control.

The wires from your line need to be same as feed that transformer maybe.

Follow the wires on the transformer and see if they go to where your power I connected.

Had a chance to look it over and clean things up, tried changing out the power legs again and it fired up. I know I switched the generated leg once already but apparently it wasn't happy with just one attempt.

Now the fun begins, already had some ideas for what to make with it....

Congrats! I can relate to both that sinking feeling AND that "d'oh" feeling!
