I just wanted to share a couple pics of my Champion Blower & Forge 50-E Drill Press. My pop gave it to me a few years ago, and he owned it for longer then I've been around. I do have to original flat-belt pulleys, but no flat-belt, so the V-belt pulleys are running it for now. I have considered restoring it, but I like the character it has more. The original switch crapped out years ago, and I had replaced it with a toggle switch back when I was a kid. I never made a switch plate for the new toggle switch, and the grey/tan stuff around the upright is duct tape sticky stuff that I need to remove. Yes I had the toggle switch taped on. I didn't look pretty but it worked. It had been setting stored in my garage out of the way for the last few years, cause I now have a Craftsman floor model drill press that I regularly use. I pulled this one out a few days ago to do a project cause I couldn't get to the Craftsman drill press I have. I decided to mount it onto this cart I had laying around, and I made a new switch plate out of some 2" wide brass plate. It only needed to be 1.25" wide, but I left the plate 2" wide so I could fashion a tab on it to hold the chuck key. The two black boxes on the cart in the pic behind the drill press have drill bits and thread taps in them.
