Something has recently changed in the link-inserting function. At least as exhibited by my web browser (Chromium on LTS Ubuntu 22.04.02). Before the change I could insert a link where the cursor is in the sentence, but now it always is placed at the beginning of the paragraph. The only way to place it with the proper context is to insert it first and then the text is entered.

Example:
linkHello goodbye

The above link was inserted at the start of the paragraph even though the cursor was located at the end of the phrase.

Not that there isn't a workaround but it's a bit annoying.

Are you using the rich text editor in the menu here to insert and edit the link? Or are you just typing it in as you go?

In the following example I just type out the url address: https://www.google.com

In the next example, I insert it as a link using the hyperlink insertion tool from the menu above.

Which method did you use?

I use the insertion tool.

Sounds like it is related to how my browser is working.

Thanks for checking!

Let me know if there is anything I can do. If its browser related, I am somewhat limited in being able to help.
