Part of a shop task in miniature I'm considering doing is to make the quick adjusting nuts for spring legged callipers . Below are some thoughts and rough sketches. I've never taken one apart to see how they work nor do I currently have one to look at .
If any of you have made their own callipers and have made the same sort of quick adjusting nuts will you cast you eyes over what I've put and make sensible comments please.
Any decent sized pictures of the real deal would be most helpful .
I tried looking on eBay UK for them , but cant find anything under any of the terms I've been searching with .
I have dismissed the idea of a straight threaded nut with a release channel drilled for full clearance diameter across it at a shallow angle as I understand that they only work on thinnish with coarse threads nuts
