Quick change tool post for SB 10k

No. Kdk is different than the aloris type
Ok, thanks.

So one more question: for the Aloris type, the hex nut that holds the post to the compound doesn’t move, and the post doesn’t move when you move the handle that clamps the tool holder to the post, right?

I’m going to have to modify my post to fit the compound on my Summit lathe, and I’m trying to understand how these work so I can decide how much room I have on the bottom of the post.

Correct. The big nut just secures the post to the compound and the handle locks/releases the tool holder on the toolpost.

Here a Aloris on a SB 9ADSCN0091.jpeg

FYI I purchased the tool post in 1970's and just keep moving the tool post to next lathe.
I got the tool when Aloris had patten on the tool post.

just out of curiosity, are you running a 6 inch 3 jaw on that? Any issues with running a chuck that big?
It is 6" 3 jaw
I also had a 8" 4 jaw .

Works great.
But sold the lathe in November.
Now I have mini lathe and 4" 3 jaw and a 5" 4 jaw
