Does anybody know of somebody documenting or recording how to gut the headstock on a TSL-800 (I'm guessing a TSL-1000 would be similar)? I have a parts diagram but that's it.
The lathe came from a factory that made fancy grills and the charcoal that they used. The skirt drain was so plugged with charcoal(?) sludge I had to disassemble it and clean it. Some how the headstock managed to get some in it too and I can't reach under the gear train to scrape it out. So I need to get a few things out of the way to completely clean it out.
I'm currently trying to get the main drive shaft out and it looks like the only way is to force the pully side bearing out using the inner race which I don't really like. Another option is to press the chuck side bearing through the cast webbing which I'm a little concerned about busting off. Does anybody else have experience getting this shaft out?
Thanks
Jeff
