I posted a thread on here how to make one similar to the original and it can be done for noting if you have a nice "scrap" box. I did it because I wouldn't pay half the price of my lathe for a thread dial.

I am trying to find something that will tell me how to properly use the thread dial. I am having difficulty starting the half nut lever right on the mark.
