Turcite or Rulon cost vs Linen Grade Phenolic

I used to buy Phenoilc from https://precisionpunch.com/ and off McMaster Carr. I bought the Moglice from Moglice.com
I would but the Epoxy they recommended for the product, but any 24 hour dry time epoxy should work. I have used JB Weld and 3M Scotch Weld. 2216 - 2 part gray epoxy for Phenolic and I can't find the 3M number but it's the same as the 2216 but it's green for Turcite. I buy Rulon from Tstar.com and use the epoxy they make as it has .003" glass beads to get a .003" bond line. They sell Phenolic too. I bet if you call a local plastics distributor and ask if the have grade Linen Phenolic they will have it. It comes in several sizes. I don't buy thinner then .032" You have to buy a sheet of it. If they cut it they charge a cutting fee.

Another type of Moglice has the thickness of pancake batter and you could dam around the edges and it won't leak like the liquid.
That's the tidbit I was looking for.

The internet is full of answers. Some of them are even right. Not always easy to know what to trust.

On the PM link there is a troll who writes on there named Monarchist, ignore him he also went by the name Thermite. He was banned on PM because he had issues. He was a smart guy, but his info, many times were cut and pasted from what others wrote. (in my opinion that is)

Thanks for the link, that helps. I have some experience with Monarchist/Thermite.

Don't be afraid to ask me questions on anything rebuilding related. I used to get upset when someone with little to no experience answered questions. I got kicked off for 30 days last time. So I have to be a good boy now as I love helping. If you ask me something and I am not answering you can always email me because sometime I forget to look here. Richard@handscraping.com
