Closed Wanted: Large Shaper/Planer tool holders

Seemingly, my new shaper takes 1"x2" shaft tools and doesn't seem to come with any. The previous owner just has 1x1 HSS right out of the clapper. SO, I was hoping someone has a bunch somewhere that they would like to get rid of! Let me know!

They pop up on E-Bay from time to time for cheap. I got a set of Armstrong #4's for 5 dollars each. Scored a straight, left, and right.

I see a couple there all for about $50 each

It seems like the straight ones don't have a "flat" bit always? They all seem to tip up for the lathe.

Best to try to find is the swivel head shaper tool holder, they hold the tool bit parallel to the shank and allow the tool to be swiveled about 180 degrees.

Yeah, I would love to find one. My old/soon to be former one has one of those and it is great! Might just have to suck it up and make one for the new machine.

I have an armstrong #48. I bought it off Uglydog a couple of years ago and misjudged as it’s for a way larger machine than my Atlas shaper. Its for a key way cutter but you could make a holder head like the one on your Atlas and clamp it in this one. I’d let it go for what I paid, $50+ shipping.
