The big ears were broke off and 3 of the 4 holes needed fixed as they were missing some metal. The big hole that was tore out I placed some 3/4" steel round bar in the hole and welded over it. Then pressed out the steel plug leaving a nice round hole. The smaller holes were just filled in. The aluminum grinding wheels from Sait work so good as I was impressed that they didn't load up from aluminum...Bob1525765bc156b3f01466285077.jpg 3945765bc14a4fb71466285076.jpg 5215765cd37e41831466289463.jpg 9375765cd3a2c4191466289466.jpg 8505765cd38aa99c1466289464.jpg 4095765bc16dee991466285078.jpg

Looks good, need to stop hitting tree stumps or something. That is the only time I have seen that much damage at one time. They can be nasty when going at any speed.

Looks like it should work out. Copper works very well for building up missing aluminum material. I use this method often when a outboard block showed up with a missing chunk where the rod punched through. A custom formed piece of copper on the inside and build it up from the outside, break off copper and blend. Spool guns make quick work of building up, but always remember to allow the work to cool a little between multiple passes to maintain a good "build up".
Nice work.
