I have been doing some wood projects lately mainly inlays. I have been experimenting with different cutting parameters and offsets on some of my tool boxes. I am using a 10 degree tapered end mill for the pocket and male plug cut 0.150 deep.
The first is poplar with a Brazilian walnut inlay.
This is poplar with a redwood inlay.
Compass rose of poplar with a walnut inlay.
The letters were another experiment using epoxy and black powder coat powder mixed in.
This is a wedding gift of Brazilian walnut with epoxy and white powder coat powder.
I like the epoxy fill as it does not seem to bleed into the wood.
The edges are crisp and clean and it sands well.
Thanks for looking.
