The top two "ratio gear sets" I fabricated
using a crucible furnace and making
castings, then hobbing the gears.
They are the 1-1 and 2-1 sets on top of the photo. The bottom set is 4-1
and came with the Springfield lathe.
Now the Springfield will do all the
feed rates and thread pitches posted on the brass placard.
