Slotter

I want to do a similar build. I need a broaching key way slotter that will cut at least 4.00 inches.
Very nice job.
Nelson

Keyway broaches are quite limited as to length of cut, which varies with the width of key,
"pushing the envelope" risks the chance of breaking the broach; for long keyways, a keyseating machine is the way to go, before I sold my shop, I had a #2 Mitts & Merrill, which would cut up to 1-1/4" keyways 12" through, and down to about 1/8" but shorter, in 1/2" holes. Generally speaking, one should not broach a key that is any longer than the broach bushing.
