Show us your 4x6 Bandsaw Modifications!

I can’t see it either. I added a link belt to my saw and found significant decrease in vibration.

Link belts are great for vibration but not the best for horse power transmission.

I put a flat ribbed belt along with a treadmill motor and MC-60 control board on mine. Variable speed with the twist of a knob and smooth as silk.

Can you take a picture of how you did this?

I have a Dayton 1/3 HP motor on my 4x6 (I posted a number of photos of my modifications on page 7, 8, and 9 of this thread). I thought a variable speed option would be cool, but I think I'll leave it alone. It seems to work well and I don't think I've moved the belt from the center sheave for a long time.

Did you extend the motor mount for counterbalance, or did you just not have a shorter belt?

Seems like a good use of a DC motor to me. Smaller motors that put out fractional hp and their controllers are really cheap. Gives me something to keep an eye out for!

My take on a vertical table and chip pan. The table is 1/2” aluminum and the chip pan is a plastic tub I found yesterday while re-arranging my shop. I plan on doing some of the vise mods to increase the cutting capacity and get the jaws closer to the blade. I also have a couple different cylinders in my stash to use for a hydraulic feed setup.

it is not a HF but only cost me $150, ACER 1hp 7x12 i added a vertical table, extended base with caster wheels and a switched outlet to the front to turn off the light, coolant pump and saw. the extended base keeps it from flipping over backward if you let go of the saw before it is in the completely vertical position. the 12"X12 table just sets into the vice and is stable and easy to fit/unfit.
