17/32” radius channel

Could you rig up something that resembled line boring on this part?

These are the only two I could find.

Or find someone local with a CNC mill and just interpolate it.

Note that you'll likely need a pretty beefy mill to run those, and some endmill holders, since those are bigger than an R8 collet can hold!

I would like to cut a round bottom channel in 6061 aluminum, about .075” deep, with a radius of 17/32”. I can’t find a tool to do this......
You could use a ball end mill of any radius less than 17/32 and make x/y movements. Note: x/y does not necessarily refer to your machine axes. It's generic.

I don’t think that part will be a problem. It’s 3hp, and somewhat beefier than a BP. Plus, I’m not going very deep.

Good on that then. I don't know what mill you have.

That said, the line boring suggestion is a really good one of you have a big enough lathe.

I bought the Melin endmill off eBay. Works like a charm. Thanks for the help.
