A Rare Snow Day

Back in about '64 we got a similar dump in Burlington, 4 times in about 10 days, It left 5-6 feet of snow on the yards, and the mounds of snow at the end of driveways was regularly over 10ft feet tall (my Dad just about gimped himself throwing the snow that high). We had to shovel the roofs as they were close to collapse.

It shut down Toronto for a whole week.

Best we have had was 44” in 24 hours. A narrow snow band off Lake Erie, over 20 years ago. 2014 just south of us 7.5 feet in 4 days. 2001 starting Xmas eve, 1.5 feet for another 4 days and 20 miles to the north of us green grass! The blizzard of ‘77 was more of a wind event that picked up the loose snow sitting on the ice in Lake Erie and dumped it us and areas of Buffalo NY.
