I picked up two air comp pumps today. Mainly interested in this one, if anyone recognizes it, I would be grateful. The data plate appears to be painted over, or missing, No plate, but looks like something was written there. Looks to be in great condition, but missing the head gasket. I did not measure them, but the pistons appear to be cast iron. It has 4 intake, and two exhaust valves. other wise looks to be like any other two cylinder compressor. Has a unusual vent & possibly dipstick as seen in the last pic.

Here is the other one, it may likely just be a shelf item, but does have good compression.

The yellow one is off of a CAT engine. It's an old one, not sure which model.

The small one looks like an early refrigeration compressor.

I originally thought it might be from a Cat, but it does not have controls( or ports) for the governor. And all the air brake pumps I have seen had a tapered shaft.

I did not think about a refrigeration compressor. Is that what that extra port is for? I did not look to close at it.

Could be for an alt air source other than brakes.

It's similar to a CAT 3208 belt drive compressor, but older.

Not sure what the other one is? remote unloader maybe?

I think I have seen a remote unloader on an old CAT.......

Most air brake compressors you can mount the governor on the compressor, or remotely with tubing.

The small one I agree is a refrigeration compressor, not sure what the small valve is, but I have found many pics that show it.
