Until I'm able to get back into the site, could you do me a favor and reply to an inquiry on the Atlas/Craftsman forum page?. I member asked about the gib size for the compound on a Clausing 5400 lathe.. I had replied that I have one of these lathes and would check my gib.. Here's the info, please post it if you have the time.
My Clausing 5418 compound gib is 6" long x 3/8" wide by 0.100" thick.. The edges are rounded like they were broken from square with a file.
