Backsplash

With my eyes getting older, I decided to add some leftover flashing I had from my garage to my lathe backsplash. It makes it much easier to see the profile when threading or checking a radius against a gauge and easy to keep clean.View attachment 37507

Thanks, Its a 1942 16"swing southbend with a 10' bed, I enjoy using it.

When I want to see better, I stick flip chart paper sheets to my lathe backsplash with some small magnets . it makes it lighter and also helps catch the "oil stripe" from the chuck

I might use that magnet and paper trick on one of my 9" lathes since they have metal backsplashes.
