buying advice for Smithy 1220XL 3 in 1

That looks like a decent vise you have there- better than some of the swivelly adjustable things I have seen, is that a Smithy accessory?

Yes it is. It appears very stout and no wobble in the mill head. That being said; I'm no expert but hope I get to play with it soon. I ran the lathe about 1/2 hr last nite and the new gears are meshing very well since. It was a dry run but necessary since I know zero. All the wheels, dials and DRO were working. Even the thread counter.

Smithy is a very good company.
I bought a small mill/drill from them a few months back.

I had some problems but, Dave was very good with the help.

Customer service is great.
