It has an MT4 on one end and is .947 straight on the other end, a very accurate piece. Also a
threaded knurled nut with spanner wrench holes. Does anyone know what this is used for?

Thanks, Cathead

it looks like the jack nut on my Atlas drill press used to remove the chuck.

Cathead,

Are there any holes in the ends? IF so, are they tapped for a thread?

I'm sure the the nut was for extracting the tapered shank from the spindle where installed.

As for what it was used for, I have no clue. Maybe so kind of alignment tooling?

There are no holes although it is equipped with centers on both ends.

I don't know what it's for but it would make an awesome start to a MT4 tailstock threading die holder..
