This cannon was completed on July 4, 2011. Turning of section of a boat prop shaft was completed on a South Bend 9-Inch "Workshop" Lathe.
The barrel is approx. 12 3/8" X 2". Bore is approx 1/2" x 10" deep. Carrage is solid black walnut.

Yes, the cannon was fired on it's July 4th birthday to honor our Country.

We just shot paper wads and a few 1/2" wood plugs.

VERY cool. Anyone know how to calculate safe wall thickness on something like this. Love to make one but want to keep all my fingers to.
