What kind of chuck fitting is this? slight taper on the backplate spindle and three threaded spigots.

I don't know much about mounting chucks, but that looks like a cross between a D-1-3 cam lock and a tapered mount chuck. My guess is it's a taper mount with threaded fasteners to keep it on? The back plate on the chuck does not have a matching taper? Would be very hard to get it running true I would think, especially if you had to remove to install for a 4 jaw.
Someone with more knowledge will be around soon.

I have this spindle nose on a 9x20 lathe I have , I think it's common to old denford cnc lathes , I only ever made one back plate to fit it , wasn't too difficult.

It's a DIN mounting.

That looks like the mounts on a PM1022/1030 and I have seen those on other brands as well, the spindle is to small to use a D1-4 so they use studs and nuts instead, the taper is common on these
