I bought this used CXA a couple of years ago.
It had a slight sticky spot that felt like dry metal against metal in it which bothered me.
Not knowing what was inside or how they worked I was a wee bit skeert to disassemble it.
But, it needed to be done so...
I cut a chunk of 1/4" flat cold rolled I had and used a big adjustable wrench to unscrew the center tube.
Needed a bit of heat on the lower threaded end to get it to pop loose.
Then I cleaned all the old caked up grease and nasty out of all the parts.
Had a real sinking feeling when I couldn't get it to reassemble without binding.
Aarrgh. I ruined it!
Tried for half an hour then gave it up for the day yesterday.
Woke up about 3:30 this morning for some darned reason and it was the first thing on my mind. So I went out to the shop and had it back together in about 5 minutes.
Have dirty hands before breakfast but it is a good start to my day.

It’s been four years since I purchased my brand new Aloris CXA.
Probably should think about cleaning and greasing it
