Cutting thin brackets

There were only 2. I used the belt grinder, then files to clean up the edges and burrs. Turned out pretty good. Thanks for the thoughts, I'm always happy to hear new ideas for workholding.

Glad it worked out! My limited experience with Ikea furniture would lead me to believe the brackets were closer to 20-gauge sheet metal, not 1/8" galvanized plate steel. I'd have used a nibbler or band saw, then belt sanded the edge to clean it up. In use it looks like they're hidden, and your cut tolerance for length was probably +/- 1/2".
