I have a Gorton 8 manual mill which requires special arbors. I have made a couple of arbors for the mill successfully. Now, I would like to make an arbor to hold a drill chuck. It seems there are a number of different tapers used to mount the chuck. As I ammaking the arbor anyway, I was wondering what drill chuck mounting taper to use before buying a chuck to match. Any thoughts?

Actually, you've got your choice of tapers- I believe JT33 is a common one
I'm sure you could make an arbor for any Jacobs-tapered chuck on the market- and there are straight shank types also
+1

I think Albrecht now sells keyless chucks capable of reversing.
