Drill Press Tear Down Advice

I'm tearing down and cleaning/fresh lube a drill press. All is good except this gear on the pivot shaft. It seems to be held in place with a thru pin. I've given some persuasion with my drift and not seen any movement.

Am I missing something? Does any have any knowledge to share?

My drift in that size is garbage, I'll likely try and find a better one tomorrow or order one if needed. Thanks, ralph

That might well be a taper pin. Check closely to see which end is smaller and drive on the small end.
