Drill press thrust bearing seat

I would not worry about the misalignment of the casting bore. Castings vary due to a number of factors, one of the important ones being cooling. Once a the raw casting is fixtured for machining, all planes are measured off of the first operation which establishes the datum for the remaining ops. The idea is that the machined portions of the hunk are as perfect as feasible in terms of concentricity, alignment, and location, the remainder of the casting just is what it is and shouldn't affect anything. I agree here's not much support there for a thrust bearing. It wouldn't be any better if the cast bore were perfectly centered in the machined feature, though.
