Well i decided to add some pieces of Comercial cutting board to my skid pads they function great and frankly it was just something to do lol .the board is about 3/4 thick so i cut some plugs with a hole saw. faced them on the lathe mounted them on a 1/4 inch bolt to hold in the chuck to clean up the sides and chamfer the edge . then i held them in the vise between two v blocks and countersunk the screws to hold them on .i got about 431 thousands before they need replaced
