TLDR
G03 with i and j used on a angle gives me a bigger circle than it should do.
hi guys so im trying to extract a cylinder from a block ive already extracted from in the past using the edge of a prevouis extraction.
(See photos)
so from the edge of the circle im cutting in a diagonal to the outer edge of the next cylinder (x3.9 y5.2) and then doing my circle from there.
so on a normal circle cutting onna straight line to the outer edge for a 7mm circle youd do:
G92 x0.0 y0.0
G01 y5.0
g03 x0.0 y5.0 i3.5
But when im doing it on a angle to keep that circle on the angle i do:
GG01x3.9 y5.2
G03 x-3.9 y5.2 i-3.5 j3.5
Now on the graphics it looks.okay except the circle is actually bigger than 7mm. I can remove the j3.5 but the cirlce is no longer follwing the angle and staying parallel with the cutting line/angle!
hope this makes sense probably explained it really bad but hoping someone knows!
Also if anybody has nay idea where i can learn more g-code/edm and how to operate it etc that would be great!
Thanks
Peter
