Have you ever been here?

I often cut chamfers & tapers on the backside with a boring bar. Everyone once in a blue moon I'll wonder why it doesn't cut cause I forget to spin the spindle in reverse. Used to happen to me a lot more often in the past. I guess I'm finally learning! :big grin:

Also, luckily it hasn't happened to me in a while & not often but drilling in reverse is not fun but at least it does make me laugh when it happens!

I was trying to tap a hole the other day and no matter what I couldn't get the tap to start. Even stopped and tried it on a different hole the next day. Then I looked and realized I had a left hand tapo_O

Cheers,

John

Then I realized the carbide insert was swapped with the support piece.
I have not done this yet, but I am certain I will. I was very recently noticing how easy it would be....

Some years ago, I was looking for a bolt for a particular project. I picked up a 7/16" bolt and found a nut for it. I tried to thread it onto the bolt, but it wouldn't go. No, you're wrong. Not left hand thread. Zero pitch. No lead. It was a rolled thread that didn't advance.
