I am looking for some help with some wire repairs. Does anyone own this model lathe? It’s labeled a PM-1340 but it’s not a Precision Matthew’s machine. When I purchased it used the reverse doesn’t work. I can hear the contact click when placed in reverse but the motor does come on. I believe the previous owner disconnected some wires at the motor. Other than that it works fine.

Hi, often a sign the motor has been replaced by a qualified expert- can you post a shot of the motor terminal box?
Is it powered from 220 volts?

I tried my best to get a good picture. It was had to hold them in place. The blue and red are the only 2 connected. The black and brown are disconnected.

If this machine is running from 220 volts: Check the motor is configured for high volt then:
The blue U1 and brown U2 from the control box should go to motor T1 and T4. Bring T5 out separately.
T5 from the motor should go to either red Z1 or black Z2 from the control box; whichever gives proper rotational direction
Tape or wirenut the unused black or red wire
That should do it

Thanks I’ll give that a shot tomorrow
