How do I obtain maximum noise reduction in my new 11/30 lathe?
I've set gears to .004 clearance.used red tacky grease. It just seems it should be real quiet. Any and all ideas are welcome. Thanks

Try a little more backlash in the banjo gears. If that doesn't help, try a little less. Sometimes, there is a sweet spot. At least this is an easy thing to try.

Are you hearing a constant noise like a whine? that could be the "carrier frequency" of the VFD and there is a way to change that to make it quieter.
Some people don't notice it at all, while to others, it's very annoying.
