Dang it now you posted it here I wanted those biax’s but that place is huge!

Some big liquidation company will probably bid on a bunch of the stuff, I'd like one of the Vidmar cabinets...

Must have been a huge operation, wonder how many jobs went away?

Sad ending..

In its heyday the facility saw three shifts and 1,400 workers passing through the doors of the 329,000 square foot facility. In the 80s and 90s the workforce dropped to between 600 and 800 daily workers, but still produced thousands of turbines for companies around the world and for the U.S. Navy. 250 were the last to go

My father in law used to work at the plant as a boiler operator and then in maintenance. He left around 10 years ago

No deep pockets needed. All you need is a letter of credit from your bank

I can relate with the people loosing their jobs there . I too worked in the turbine gas compressor manufacturing at the Ingersoll-Rand Turbo Products in NJ from 78-82 got laid off , in 1986 they merged with Dresser to form Dresser-Rand , they closed the NJ plant soon after that . It was a good place to work and probably would have stayed there ,

That just makes me sad. Wonder where the turbines are being manufactured now.

Ted
