Finally had a chance to run up to our hunting land to check on winter damage. I expected some roof problems after all the reports of caved barn and shed roofs in the area due to all the snow and ice this past winter. I guess after 26 years of good luck and only minor leakage, my # was up. Looks like it's gonna be a long hot summer. :whiteflag:

It's mainly the living room/kitchen area, so it might be salvageable - if we can dry it out and no mold issues come up. Oh well - another bump in the road......the four hour+ ride up is really inconvenient when many trips are required..

Nice grass there. Did you cut the grass before you took the picture?

That sucks, hope nothing damaged beyond repair.

When you'll rebuild the ceiling you can leave holes (or plates) for some ceiling jacks below the joists, to be placed before snow season.
If you plan to rebuild the roof, too, evaluate the opportunity to make it steeper, so snow can slide for its own weight (and you get a mezzanine for free…).

Thats bad luck there man. Looks like a nice area to have a hunting camp.
Is that your own property or can you build on crown land?

Cheers Phil
