In the Members Map ticket, I edited reply #5 and wanted to make sure Brian would see it.
I added reply #6 pointing out the edit.

That exercise raised a question (or two) for me.
I assumed that the addition my edit alone would not have flagged the thread as 'unread' so Bryan would have no reason to discover the edit.
I needed to add a new reply to be confident that Bryan would see the edit.

Is my assumption correct or does an edit flag a thread as unread?

I also could have (should have) put @vtcnc in the edit. Head slap

I don't believe an edit will send me an alert or notification. A reply definitely will if I am watching a thread, forum or replied previously in the same thread and you have replied to my post.

An @extropic will always flag the member. This is useful when you want to bring them into a thread that they are currently not involved in.

In this case, I received an alert each time you replied.

Also, I will receive an alert if I'm following somebody and they post.

Note to self: use @ . . . to call someone's attention to a new edit of a previous reply.

Resolved.
