So I'm working away and some swarf got into the threads of my ER40 collet chuck. It snagged a little tightening, but I didn't think much of it. Bad move. The nut was really difficult to remove, and damaged the threads on the chuck and nut significantly. I ended up having to pick up the threads and run cleanup passes on the lathe to get it usable again. I think I can do the same on the nut, but it's in the box for now. I didn't feel like dialing it in after all that. Thankfully, I found some videos on youtube showing how to align the lathe to existing threads. That's a trick I didn't think I would need.
