An add has been on craigslist for a few weeks for a 3hp 3ph dust collector with cyclone:
$200
While I was there I picked up some shaper cutters:
$100 and they threw in an old router:
Which is a nice match for my old Stanley router collection:
I also picked up a few 3phase motors from the same place:
One heck of a heavy 2hp
$50 for all 10 of them. And they threw in a box of pulleys:0
Which came with an unexpected 3 jaw chuck that fits my Rockwell wood lathe:
and a couple big Jacobson chucks:
The next day I found a craigslist add for a Bosch router for $60. The add was 10 minutes old when I emailed:
Really nice older gentleman. A wood worker and a carver. He asked me if I wanted a plate/biscuit joiner:
A real nice one with the all metal fences. He said he would give it to me for $10 since I bought the router. I refused and countered with $20.
Then he sold me his Workmate for $20. And threw in a bunch of Harborfreight clamps... which turned out to be Jorgenson clamps. And a couple of nice hand saws. (Which is too many files to post I guess) He also threw in a few really nice router bits.
It took me most of the week to unload. Some of those older motors are REALLY heavy! No need to go to the gym when you have a pickup bed for of old motors that need to go up a flight of stairs for storage.
I wonder if I can supercharge the dust collector by cranking up the frequency on the VFD?
