Just stocked up on materials of various kinds:). Local CL add where they were getting rid of all sorts of metal. Aluminum and stainless steel $1.50 lb, regular steel @ .60 cents lb., and bronze and and brass @ $3.00 lb. I purchased most of the bronze. Got plenty of brass as well. Got a bit of aluminum and some regular steel, and a little stainless. Thing is he has quite a supply left to sell, except on the bronze.
One type of item I did not buy was the aluminum plate that he has lot of. If he doesn't sell out, I might have to go back for some of the aluminum plate. Now I can't use the excuse that I don't have the material for the job. Here's some photos. of what I bought.

Lots of stock to work with. Getting very pricey to buy material today, so congrats on the big stash !

very nice score! helps to have material on hand. I bought some 2x2x1/4, 2x2x1/8, 2x1x1/8, 2x2x1/4, and some 6" channel. about had a seizure when got the bill for $990...

Nice haul!
I follow several local online auctions.
Am a bottom feeder - will throw low ball bids on stuff that I know I won't get but sometimes I do get lucky.
I was high bidder on this pile of drops a couple of weeks ago.
Couple sizes of DOM tubing, some aluminum, several pieces of delrin, misc cold rolled, a couple pieces of 4140, one nice 3"x7" chunk of ductile CI, etc, etc. About 250 lbs in all.
You all will say I suck but it cost me $16.05 with fees and tax plus a 30 mi round trip to go get it.

That's funny. I believe I met you at that auction site and talked to you for a bit.

I had my stuff outside on a cart ready to load it and you were going in?
The door was locked and I told you to pound on the door?

Mmmm, maybe not then. The door was open and I just walked in and talked to Jim. I had the red Ram truck.
