Hello everyone. I saw this section of trades and maybe I can get lucky for what I'm looking for. I am trying to make a conveyor belt that works with the force of moving water. However, with the movement of the water the conveyor goes too fast. Therefore, I thought of modifying its speed by incorporating it into any gear motors. It is a somewhat crazy ecological project that I would like to carry out. Does anyone have a second hand one that is not very expensive? Thanks in advance!

A home made belt or chain reducer would be most economical if you don't need too much reduction.

Do you have any speed info I.E water speed, conveyor speed etc.

Gears will be expensive and require careful fitting.

Look for an old 10 speed bicycle.

Gears, chains and tensioner off in one place.

Chain is very common so read cheap!

Also easy to find.

Oh, thanks so much for your advices! I'll try to use a chain or a belt cause' it's true I don't need too much much reduction but I wanted everything works perfect. Thanks again!

Maybe an automotive steering box from the junk yard, and add a sprocket. You may have to research what ratios they have
