I've belatedly noticed that my lathe is fitted with a Lovolite transformer, which appears to have been a standard machine lighting solution in it's day. The transformer is 415v 3 phase in to 50V single phase output with a max rating of 100w. It appears to work ok and produces the correct voltage output when run powered from my static converter.

Ideally I would like to match this up with suitable machine light, but can anyone identify the plug/connector required for the output socket (Granic) in the second photo? The blades look around 5/16" wide and something around 51/128" apart.

Actually I found a spare US-UK 2 pin mains adaptor and this fits snuggly - I'm sure I can find a nice moulded plug/cable in with some some of our imported electrical odds and sods and I should be able to build a step up rectifier to double the voltage so I can run GU10 style LED lamps (using Bill Todds mod/circuit - http://madmodder.net/index.php/topic,10254.msg115604.html#msg115604 )
