Making a pedal steel is still probably easier than playing one. Definitely a worthy pursuit though.

Pedal steel and dobro are my favs , and I'm not making either ! :big grin:

Ain’t THAT the truth! Same with violin. All instruments with no frets are a slippery slope. I had a pickin’ buddy who played PSG and he described it as totally cerebral. Because kinda like playing drums every limb is doing something different and they are all involved. So you can’t tap your foot to keep time.

One of my oldest pickin buddies went to the dobro from guitar because his joints in his hands were getting so bad. He loves it because you can totally see the fretboard and because the thing is tilted up at you and it so loud you can hear yourself no matter what.
