I’m planning on making a digital readout for the tailstock of both of my Logan lathes, using a similar setup as the Bridgeport Series 1 Mitutoyo quill kit.

Essentially it’s a dial caliper body mounted to the tailstock that can extend the movable jaw outwards with the tailstock quill.

Has anyone had success in making something like this?

One thing I wish my Logans had was a grafuted tailstock dial. I’m doing a short run production job this week and it slows me down quite a bit having to pull the tailstock away to run a a caliper in to measure depths

Here is how one guy did it . If it were me I wouldn't use a digital I would fit a dial travel . Much easier to read when coming to a stop .
