Does anyone have a manual for an Enterprise 1550 lathe. Mine is leaking oil from the back of the chuck and I’m not sure how to get to the seal. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I think that I answered a similar question on the Enterprise 1550 manual about a month ago. But if that was for someone else, we do have a manual on it in Downloads. Go to:

It would appear from the headstock section view drawings in the parts section of the manual that there is a plate behind the spindle head that covers the hole that the spindle head bearing fits into. There is a gasket between this plate and the headstock. Assuming that the headstock oil level is correct, I would guess that either this plate is loose or the gasket is leaking.
