Metric Bolt Sizing Question

If I have a bolt in my checker that says say 25/64 imperial 9.92 metric on a drill gauge would the bolt be rounded up to 10 mm for the proper size or do I need to search for a 9.92 ??? Thanks for any input

You would not be able to fit a 10mm bolt into a 10mm hole any more than a 10mm rod would fit in a 10mm hole.
The crests on bolts and holes are always missing so that it will fit. The closer the bolt is to it's nominal size, the tighter it will fit. Most stuff is fairly loose.
