This is a milling attachment I made for my Hardinge DV59 lathe. I started with a 2-1/2” Palmgren vise I picked up at a swap meet and made the rest. Most of the pieces were made at work in my spare time using a welder, Bridgeport mill and a surface grinder. The welded angle plate piece offsets the vise to give equal X axis travel both sides of the vise. I also made a jaw with a 120 deg V for holding round pieces parallel to the spindle. It now has a graduated dial on the hand wheel with a thumbscrew than can be zeroed. The original graduations directly on the hand wheel were not user friendly. It also has a spacer to replace the nuts between the vise and top plate.

Thanks. So far, I’ve used it to mill a keyway in a piece for the lead screw hand wheel and I gave it a true test by machining my 2” boring head with it.
