Monarch Lathe

Hi all I am new to this site and I am wondering if anyone can help me decipher the info on the flat part of the ways on the far right. It is a flat belt spindle drive machine on the brass gear change tag at top it says 14 Monarch Lathe 16. On the ways it has a name Roy Ridley And The letter A

Machine No.6

Roy was an inspector for Monarch, I believe back in the 1920's. The lot and machine number were part of a serial system. One of our members here has nicely offered to look up some of the serials we have on our machines for a date of manufacture. I'll try to find the thread where it was posted.
