Plugging and unplugging this thing was unreasonably frustrating to me... so I added a disconnect switch.

Didn't take any pics, it was really simple. I just pulled the power cord in a foot, chopped it, and stuck the disconnect in the middle. Super easy.

Not familiar with the 833? Why is it necessary to unplug it?

Has a cooling fan that runs non-stop. Also it's a VFD, and I prefer to keep it disconnected out of paranoia

I switched the dedicated line at the wall and use it to turn on the machine and the DRO's, but that is pretty slick.

I did something like this on my 833 but I have both 220 and 120 switched so I turn everything on and off from the one switch. Power feeds, DRO, lights and Mill.

Hindsight is 20/20 - I should have run a 10-3 instead of 10-2 to my mill so I can have it all on one circuit.

I set my Lathe up the same way and power my Lab this way too. Lab has 2 switches as I don't need to power everything up all the time.
