My brand new old lathe

Hi guys I really need your all help with this one I got this from a friend over at weapons guild for $100 just had to drive 12 hours round trip to pick it up but I still think it was worth it.

So I am looking for any help or advise on how to restore the beauty to origional condition but to also be able to use it. I dont know much about it other then it is an ELMCO lathe model Universal and the serial number is 143 so below are the pics and look forward to your guys great advise.

It seems that it is an armature lathe.
