New Pm25 - Few Questions

Well, I put my new PM25 on its stand today and cleaned it. It lit up! Now I'm heading on a long learning curve. One thing I noticed is there is no manual or any significant instructions for the installed DRO.

I emailed PM and they sent me a DRO manual.....now that's a read.

One thing that surprised me is that the DRO doesn't change with the quill vertical travel. It only moves with the headstock.

I'll be reading and reading and tinkering my way through

Appreciate any basic tips.

IMO, unless you are drilling, boring, or setting a z-reference datum, you shouldn't be moving the quill anyway. The further out you extend the quill on these smaller machines, the less rigid the setup as these quills are not that stout.
